IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dick Lee
Warner
April 10, 1948 – November 15, 2024
Dick Lee Warner, age 76, of Montana City, Montana, died in his home, surrounded by his family on November 15, 2024.
Dick was born on April 10, 1948 to Harold (Dick) and Edith Warner in Marshfield, Wisconsin, the oldest of 7 children.
Dick was a 1966 graduate of Chetek High School. He attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he met his wife, June Li, and they married in 1972. Dick attended Dental School at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and opened his first dental practice in Richland Center, Wisconsin. In 1981, Dick moved his family to Bozeman, Montana where he was the dentist at Montana State University. In 1990 he moved to Helena to assume operation of a dental practice in Montana City where he practiced dentistry until his retirement. Dick enjoyed visits from his Wisconsin family and the opportunity to show them the beauty of Montana where he had made his home.
Dick had a deep love for the outdoors, and Montana was the perfect place for him to embrace that passion. An avid hunter, he preferred more traditional and primitive methods like archery and flintlock muzzleloading. He was very proud to have taken his grandsons hunting. Beyond hunting, he was an enthusiastic distance runner and completed numerous marathons throughout his life. His outdoor pursuits also included cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and mountain biking.
In addition to his love for outdoor activities, Dick had an interest in flying. He even built his own aircraft and once flew his family from Bozeman, Montana, to Chetek, Wisconsin. His wife, though, was nervous throughout the flight, but she never told him!
Dick is survived by his wife, June, son Ed (Rebecca), and grandsons Casey and Foster, all of Montana City, Montana; his brothers and sisters, Donn of Chetek, Wisconsin, Bill (Cindy) of Cedar Falls, Wisconsin, Mark (LynAnn) of Chetek, Wisconsin, and David (Renee) of Georgetown, Texas, Mary (Greg) Johnson of Chetek, Wisconsin and Kristin Warner of Madison, Wisconsin and many nieces and nephews.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents, Big Dick and Edith Warner.
In accordance with Dick's wishes, there will be no funeral service or public viewing.
