Dennis Harry Olds of Helena, Montana passed peacefully in his home surrounded by family on July 19, 2024. He had just turned 71.

Dennis was born on July 15, 1953, in Thompson Falls, Montana to Kennth Olds and June Kelly. He was an only child. He lived in Plains, Montana most of his life with his mother. He graduated from Plains High School in 1972. He joined the Army in 1972, and he was a medical specialist until 1975. He returned home on reserve until 1978. Dennis had 5 children and 14 grandchildren. He was a construction worker until he had a back injury in 1985 that caused him many problems. Dennis spent much of his life in hospitals after the injury.

Dennis was a musician. He played for Breaking Fences, Billy Shack and the Oldsmobile's, Sinsitigins, and several other bands.  Being on stage was his passion, playing guitar or bass, and singing. Rusty Dennen and Billy Shack were a major part of Dennis's music career.

Dennis lived in Seattle off Bainbridge Island where he was a of a Veteran bunk house that housed homeless Veterans. He worked hard in the effort to end Veteran homelessness in Kitsap County, before returning to Montana in 2011 where he retired due to his medical issues.

Dennis passed away peacefully in his home after a recent illness. He will be remembered as "Rock N Roll Hundred Miles an Hour."

Dennis is survived by his mother, June, his children Micah (Julianna), Shane, Derrick, Kelli, Lindsay and 14 beautiful grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Olds, and grandparents, Nelly Bell and Harry, and aunts Maxine, Tress, Annebelle, and uncle Edwin Lee (Bus).

A service with Veteran's Honors to be held at the VA, followed by a Celebration of Life, will be announced at a later date. Simple Cremation Montana has assisted the family.
