Dennis Klamp, 70, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on March 22, 2026.

Dennis was born on September 21, 1955, to Elmer (Mick) and Helen Klamp. As the firstborn, he followed in his father’s footsteps and proudly became a second-generation HVAC technician. He later became the owner of Stayton Heating in Stayton, Oregon, his childhood hometown.

Dennis raised his three daughters in Stayton before relocating to Helena, Montana in 1995 with daughters Katie (Dell Thomas), Kelley (Mike Eckerson), and Cassie (Jeff Wiles). A “girl dad” long before the term became popular, his daughters were the light of his life, and he was the center of theirs. Whether at home or out camping, he made moments special—famously whipping up pineapple upside-down cake at camp, a tradition his family will never forget. He was proud to see them happily married and cherished his role as “PaPa” to his six grandchildren: Ryan and Leah Thomas; Evan Klamp and Elle Eckerson; and Myah and Izac Wiles.

Dennis continued his HVAC career in Montana, where he owned and operated Action Air, serving Helena and the surrounding communities for more than 20 years. Known for his iconic flannel shirts and wool felt hat, Dennis left a lasting impression on his customers—along with his beloved four-legged companions, Cheeko and Brandy. He built a loyal customer base and was deeply grateful for their continued support over the years.

Through his work and dedication, Dennis built a life centered on family, raising his children and watching his grandchildren grow. Montana, especially the Helena Valley, was truly his home.

He will be forever missed and always in our hearts.

A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 10th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Broadwater Park, 1090 Williams St., Helena, MT
