IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David V.
Lorenz Jr.
April 15, 1955 – May 14, 2022
David V. Lorenz Jr. was born on April 15, 1955 in Butte. An Army brat, he grew up all over the United States and spent some time in Germany before returning to Montana and graduating from Helena High School in 1973. He served in the Navy until 1978. Then, he served in the Montana Army National Guard, Aviation Units, from 1979 to 1999. He spent his career working in computer science and software development, spending over 20 years working at Northrop Grumman and ending his career working for the State of Montana.
He loved chasing elk, starting the first weekend of bow season through the final weekend of rifle season. Over the years, he enjoyed spending time shooting pool, golfing, riding his ATV, shooting his bow, and going to the gun range. He enjoyed watching sports and rooting for the Patriots, Celtics, Red Sox, Colorado Avalanche and Montana Grizzlies. He loved being around people. He was a great father to Ryan and Jamie. He was a kind and generous person to all who knew him. He will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Doris Lorenz, his sister Penney Jerome, and his nephew Gabriel Jerome. He is survived by his children, Ryan Lorenz (Amy McNulty) and Jamie Kline (Josh Kline), his brother Darrin and sister Pam, brother-in-law Randy Jerome, niece Hannah Evans, nephews Josiah and Jorri Jerome, cousin Dale, and his best friend Dave Wilcox.
As a lover of the outdoors, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation in his name. In honor of his wishes, no funeral will be held.
