David Barry Bausch was born on July 7, 1954 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to David Charles Bausch and Bonnie Jean Owens Bausch. He died October 22, 2021 in his home surrounded by his wife and son. He was only 67 years old.Barry or Dave as some of you knew him, grew up mostly in Southern California He would not admit to that because he was a Montana boy to the core. When ever he could, he would be in Montana, working summers on his uncle's ranch in Madison Valley. He loved Montana. His childhood was filled with happy memories...scuba diving, riding horses, hang gliding, riding motorcycles, camping with his family, back packing and helping his dad build a house in Hacienda Heights. He also helped his dad with taking care of bee hives and many avocado trees. Barry and his dad always had an ongoing project.Barry met his wife, Joy Zittercob in the operating room at La Habra Hospital. He ran for the OR patients and did up the instruments. He always thought she was cute, but bossy and pushy. Love conquered all. They were married on June 16, 1974 in Whittier, California. They went backpacking in Europe for their honeymoon. They later moved to Great Falls, Montana in 1978.Barry graduated from UCSD (University of California in San Diego) in 1978 with a BS in Psychology with a minor in Biology. While going to school in Montana he juggled a heavy work load and his new born son Joshua.Barry graduated from MSU (Montana State University) in 1982 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He immediately went to work for Bechtel Construction in Colstrip, Montana. He was transferred to Homestead, Florida in 1983 to upgrade the nuclear plants there. Back to Colstrip, Montana in 1984 and started his life long work with power companies like Montana Power and North Western Energy. He took a year break between companies to work for Alyeska Pipeline in Valdez, Alaska and back to Montana with the state, but he missed Montana Power. He went back to work with North Western Energy om 2002, in Butte MT, where he worked until his retirement in 2018. Though he worked in Butte, he lived in Helena, MT.Barry and Joy had a great 47 years together. Barry loved 4 wheeling with their friends Vick and Larry, loved boating, loved looking for gold, loved making things out of iron, liked to shoot his guns, clean the guns, and hunt when he was younger. He really liked to make a "to do list." He and his wife traveled to many places while they were young but late Barry just loved to be home. He loved to work on his home. He would look at his home and property and say, "This place shows that it is loved!" He worked hard to keep this up and in good shape. He is survived by his father and mother David and Bonnie, his wife Joy, his son Joshua, his granddaughter Madeleine, grandsons Daniel, William and Alexander. He is also survived by his older sister Cathy and his two younger brothers Steve (wife Sheila), and Randy (life partner Toni), nephews Bryan and Scott McDaniel, nephews Steve and Scott Walker (Darcie), and nephew Kevin Bausch (Jennifer). Still has a lot of great nephews, great nieces and cousins in Madison Valley Montana and California. Big Family!! Barry was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.Pancreatic cancer did not define Barry. Hopefully most people would define him as a good man. Not only a good man, but a good husband, father, grandfather, brother, and co-worker and a good "to do list" keeper. He had a great smile and his laughter was infectious. He did have hope in God for a better future to come, Revelation 21:3,4.A memorial service on line (Zoom) may be planned for a future date to be announced.
