IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daphne Kay
Ahrendes
January 4, 1947 – March 24, 2025
Daphne Kay (Brewer) Ahrendes, 78, of Helena, MT died on March 24, 2025, from complications of long-lasting health problems. Her life was full of adventure chasing her husband and two sons trying to keep them corralled. Born in Helena on January 4th, 1947, to Kay and Eva Brewer, Daphne attended Helena High and proceeded to attend MSU. Daphne enjoyed friends and family gatherings and social events. Her childhood was full and fun spending quality time at Canyon Ferry Lake. She married Frank Ahrendes in 1970 and had two sons, Jason and Kenny. Daphne loved the sunshine which drew her to outside events quite often. Weekends included time at the lake with close friends and family along with an occasional bystander that she invited to join the festivities. She loved animals and we always had some type of dog, cat, guinea pig, horse, or even an alligator ( ok, that was Frank's and Daphne hated that it would escape and hide in the laundry basket for her to find it hissing at her). Horses were her life when she found the time for them. She started showing them at horse shows and gained a whole other "arena" of friends. Daphne was loved richly by all from coworkers to strangers she just met. Friends thought she was an angel having to put up with three wild men that she cared for. Her life revolved around "trying" to keep us out of trouble. As time went on, health problems grew, and she found herself not being able to do many things. The fact that she was losing her physical freedom never stopped her from pouring love on others. We all knew well that Daphne was very "spirited" lol, had her opinions and for sure you were going to know them. The news channels kept her quite entertained along with Hallmark horse movies. We praise Jesus for using illnesses to bring people close to Him. Daphne watched and felt God carry her through the death of her husband and younger son. She would praise Him over and over for the help. Her faith grew immensely as we had many conversations and she was excited to meet her creator, but also did not want to leave all her friends and family. Daphne was predeceased by her parents, her older brother Alan, her husband Frank, and her son Kenny and survived by her brother John and Betty Brewer, her son Jason and Danielle Ahrendes, and grandson Justin Ahrendes and numerous nieces, nephews, and many good friends.
