Obituary

Cynthia (Cindy) Sue – Johnson- Ross, our beautiful mom, grandma, sister, aunt, niece and cousin, passed away on January 15, 2024 after a two yearlong battle with cirrhosis of the liver.

Cindy was born to Lois Vook and Gifford Johnson on September 26, 1965 but was raised mostly by her grandparents, Mildred and Matt Vook. She attended grade school in East Helena and high school at Helena High School where she was a gifted and always smiling cheerleader.

Cindy was an amazing woman. She would always put everyone else's needs above her own. She always did whatever she could to make everyone else happy. She was the family cheerleader holding everyone else up no matter how much she was hurting. Her Grand babies and her son were her pride and joy and absolute everything. She loved them so much and was so proud of them. She always told Nathan he was her biggest accomplishment, and would tell everyone how lucky she was to have such a good son.

She was very stubborn and you could not tell her to do anything but she loved harder than anyone and had the sweetest soul ever. Cindy was someone you could always call when you were upset because she would get mad enough for the both of you. She was a spitfire when it came to defending her loved ones. If Cindy did not like someone or something, it was written all over her face. She was a very generous person, too generous at times. Cindy loved sushi, music and loved listening to local artists play. Cindy was loved by many and could always put a smile on your face. She had friends from every walk of life and when out she would always see someone she knew and would greet them with a big hug.

Cindy was a very hard worker from high school on. She worked at Drug Fair, CVS Pharmacy, Consultec, Helena Police Dept.in support services division, her last job was at MMIA where she worked for 11 years.

Cindy was proceeded in death by her parents. Lois and Gifford Johnson, grandparents Matt and Mildred Vook, Milton and Pearl Johnson, Uncle Martin Vook and Cousin Amy Rolfe.

She is survived by her son Nathan Baxter, grand babies Daejah Oshae Nelson and Kloie Baxter. Brothers Mark (Karen) Johnson and Dean Johnson. Aunts and Uncles Randy (Candy) Vook, Jim Vook, Eric (Deb) Johnson and Ray (Bonnie) Johnson). Cousins Teresa Vook, Tandi Salazar, Bryan (Sarah) Johnson, and Jayme Johnston. Nieces and nephews Dillon Johnson (Alyssa) and Great Niece Austyn. Dear friend Lee Johnson and ex-husband John Ross

In lieu of flowers Nathan has set up an account at Valley Bank "Benefit for Cindy Ross" to help raise money to cover expenses and to donate to the Hope Center Ministries in her memory. Also there is a GoFundMe page for donations and part of those proceeds will also go to Hope Center Ministries. Her celebration of life will be held on April 6th details to be announced at a later date.  Simple Cremation Montana has assisted the family.
