Obituary

Wayne “Peewee” Sherlock passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed.

Peewee is survived by his wife and the love of his life of 54 years, Nancy; their three children, Randi (Robert) Havens, Dani (Brian) Vermillion, and Frank (Aimee) Sherlock; eight grandchildren, Jesse Havens, Macey Havens, Gage (Kara) Vermillion, Parker Vermillion, Cooper Vermillion, Adam Sherlock, Everett Sherlock, and Trevor Sherlock; and two great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Eleanor Vermillion. He is also survived by many cousins with whom he shared a lifetime of memories. He was preceded in death by his mother, Emily “Mert” Sherlock, and his beloved dog, Jackie.

His family was the center of his world. He found his greatest joy gathered around the barbecue, sharing laughter and stories in the backyard. A true craftsman with a hands-on spirit, Peewee had a passion for building engines and racing anything with wheels. He also enjoyed camping, caring for his pets, and the simple pleasure of creating lasting memories with those closest to him.

Peewee proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve and dedicated over 20 years to his community as a volunteer firefighter. He spent more than three decades with Asarco before following his passion for woodworking as a self-employed trim carpenter, where his work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in every project.

Peewee will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his generous spirit, and the many lives he touched. A private family event will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lewis and Clark Humane Society, supporting the great work they do.
