Christopher Byde Lamey passed away peacefully early Friday morning October 4th, 2024 after a fierce and courageous 2 year battle with Cancer.
Christopher was born October 8th, 1962 in Lebanon, Oregon to Fritz and Janet Lamey. He grew up in Eureka, Montana on a ranch with his three siblings Penny, Cory and Tracey. He loved the ranch life, riding, working cattle and fishing in the surrounding lakes in the summer.
While attending Lincoln Co. High School, Chris participated in football and wrestling and was State Champion Wrestler his Junior year. He then transferred to Flathead Co. High School.
Chris married in 1984 and after several years of ranching, moved to Arizona. He had four children from his first marriage: Dahlia, Khole, Hannah and Chance.
Chris later became a builder of Residential homes in all aspects of acquired skill in electrical, mechanical, foundation and carpentry. His impeccable talents led him to take on and supervise incredible housing and industrial projects which enhanced his phenomenal construction and architectural reputation.
Around 2012, Chris was hired on by ORMAT Technologies, a global corporation that builds Geothermal Plants throughout the world. Chris quickly became the lead Project Manager for ORMAT and built Geothermal plants from the ground up in Honduras, Chile, Africa, Guatemala, Nevada and California. He was highly regarded in his work and abilities and he was passionate about the challenges and responsibilities each project entailed.
Chris married Shelley in January of 2013 and resided in Barstow, California. He enjoyed traveling with her in the overseas countries he worked in as well, Chris loved trailering their horses into the mountains of California and Arizona where they would ride, fish and camp.
In 2023 Chris and Shelley followed their roots back to Montana, where they reside in Helena.
Chris loved to go to Cory and Kari's cattle ranch in Wise River and also when they moved to their new ranch outside of Dillion. He was proud of the life his brother created and loved to be included in it.
Chris was a perfectionist at everything he did and always put 200% into everything or not at all. He was a brilliant builder, could fix any engine, vehicle, design any project and problem solve any situation. He was methodical, patient and had tremendous perseverance. He was very sharing, giving and would help anybody, anytime with anything. He always put his family and friends ahead of his own needs.
Chris will be remembered by his kind heart, his love of family and his impact on everyone he came into contact with. He is survived by his loving wife Shelley, his siblings Penny, Cory, and Tracey, his mother Janet and his children Dahlia, Khole, Hannah and Chance and his four wonderful grandchildren – Bryce, Drew, Avery and Maizy.
