On December 6th, 2020, Charlotte Sue (Mason) Johnson had a dream fulfilled that she lookedforward to nearly her entire life. Charlotte met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face to face.Charlotte was born to Gladys (Bowen) Mason and Jim Mason in Yale, Oklahoma on February 23, 1930. Though life was difficult for Charlotte and her parents in those years, they thrived on love and God's grace. At the age of nine, Charlotte put her faith in Jesus Christ and was shortly thereafter baptized in "a muddy Oklahoma creek".Charlotte attended Quay High School in Quay, Oklahoma where she met the love of her life,Wayne Alfred Johnson. They were married on July 20, 1947 and traveled extensively for nineyears as Wayne worked as a welding x-ray technician. In 1959, Charlotte and Wayne moved to McAllister Montana where Wayne worked as a ranch hand and in 1964 they bought theMcAllister Store and Cabins. Charlotte operated the store and cabins and became theMcAllister Postmaster in June, 1971, a job she retained until her retirement from the postaldepartment in 2005. Wayne worked extra jobs as a ranch hand and bus driver, a job hecompletely enjoyed, for the Ennis School from 1974-1995. Wayne was also a State BrandInspector and enjoyed selling turquoise jewelry. In the 1990's, Wayne put his faith in JesusChrist and was baptized in the upper Madison River.Wayne and Charlotte were very active in their church and held many teen bible studies in theirhome. In 2007 Charlotte and Wayne moved from their beloved Madison Valley and many dearfriends to live in Helena, MT. to be near family.On December 12, 2020, only six days after Charlotte's passing, Wayne also left this earth andjoined Charlotte to worship Jesus Christ in His eternal presence. Wayne was born to Hazel(Hoskins) Johnson and John Johnson in Yale, Oklahoma on January 20, 1929. Wayne's childhood was filled with hard work and fun. He enjoyed riding his horse, exploring and trapping on the Oklahoma creeks and he excelled in high school athletics.Wayne and Charlotte remained together in their home caring for each other but Wayne's heartwas broken upon Charlotte's passing. God graciously granted Wayne's desire and allowed him to worship Jesus with Charlotte in heaven. Charlotte and Wayne had three sons, Jim (Donna), Jerry (Delynn) and Rick (Debbie) along with eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren an one great, great grandchild. Wayne and Charlotte's family was their pride and joy and they loved nothing more than having family together.Wayne and Charlotte are remembered by many as the "older couple that was always together". They were rarely apart and cared intensely for each other and supported each other in all situations. Wayne and Charlotte's life together represented love, loyalty and life-longfriendship. They are loved and will be greatly missed. A memorial service for Wayne andCharlotte will be held at a later date.
