Carol Ruth Morefield, 74, of Helena Montana, Passed away after a short battle with cancer complications August 22. 2018 at home with her family by her side. She was born to Harold and Margorie Hamlin on December 25, 1946 in Helena Montana. Carol was raised in Boulder Montana where she attended school. Carol, who followed in the footsteps of her mother, went on to work in the restaurant and food industry for the majority of her life until she retired in 2005. Carol moved from Montana in 1983 to Washington State where she made life for herself and her daughters. She resided in the greater Spokane area until returning to her home state of Montana about ten years ago. Carol was an avid crocheter and enjoyed baking, canning and crocheting items to enter into the local fairs. She was proud of the ribbons that she won and worked to earn more each year. She enjoyed cooking and bartending at the local restaurants. Dancing was another favorite pastime. She loved a good country song and a dance floor. In her younger years traveling and going to the lake was another favorite pastime. She enjoyed picnicking and boating across the lake with her husband and her children. Carol had a love for family and enjoyed being around them. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and seeing her 5 great grandchildren. She enjoyed her church family and celebrating her love for the Lord. She especially loved the small groups that she was involved in with her church and the friendships that came out of that. She loved to go on long car rides to the lake and took every opportunity to put her feet in the water when she was able. Carol is survived by her husband of 20 years Michael Morefield, her daughter Leann Kaufman (Chad), her brothers- Jerry(Barbara) Hamlin, Jack (Sandy) Hamlin, 6 Grandchildren- Jakob (Tabitha) Hutt, Tori Rushfeldt, Tara Rushfeldt, Arianna Rushfeld, Shawn Rushfeld, Capri Rushfeldt and 5 Great Grandchildren, her loving nephew who was an amazing caregiver and companion for her, Robert Roope, as well as numerous nieces, nephew and cousins.Carol was preceded in death by her mother and dad, Harold and Majorie Hamlin, brother Larry Hamlin, her daughter Michelle Rushfeldt, her Grandson Anthony Hutt, and her Grandaughter Kristin Hutt. There will be a memorial service held to honor Carol on Saturday September 11, 2021 at 11am at Helena first Assembly of God Church located at 2210 Dodge Street, Helena, Montana with internment at Sunset memorial Gardens to immediately follow. Please join us for a light lunch at the church following the service so that we can take the time to celebrate and share memories of Carol together.
