Carlos Lopes age 90 passed away Jan 28,2024. He was born in Shanghai and lived in the Portuguese colony of Macao until he was sent to be educated at the Maris Brothers college in Australia. After graduation he joined the Australia Army. When discharged from there, he moved to New Zealand and became an air traffic controller. A traveling bug brought him to Canada where he was an air traffic controller in Vancouver BC. There he met and married Vera. They both moved to California where their two sons Thomas and Richard were born. Following retirement, Carlos and Vera moved to Arizona where he enjoyed constant golfing. They both loved to travel and took many cruises. When the time was right, they moved to Great Falls Mt to be near the boys and family and enjoyed many celebrations. His death is preceded by his father Joaquin and mother Flora and two sisters Branda and Angelina. A mass will be held in the chapel of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Great Falls, Montana on Wednesday, Feb 7 at 11am.  Simple Cremation of Montana has assisted the family.
