Brent Robert Hanson, 65, of Helena, Montana, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 30, 2024.

Born on February 20, 1959 to Betty and Bob Hanson in Helena, Mt. Brent spent his early years attending Helena High School from where he graduated in 1977. Following graduation he went on to study and play football at Carroll College.

After graduating from Carroll, Brent moved out to Seattle, where he spent the next 25 years before returning to Helena. Brent notably worked for the Seattle Seahawks for 10 of those years as a fields and groundskeeper where he was able to put his love for gardening to use creating immaculate playing fields.

Brent was a proud father to his daughters Michelle and Shelby, who were his greatest joy and his proudest accomplishments. He found even greater delight in his five grandchildren, whose milestones he celebrated with immense pride. His girls will remember him as a loving and devoted father and grandpa.

Brent was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Bob. He now joins them in eternal peace.

He is survived by his daughters, Michelle Hallenbeck (husband Jeff) and Shelby Hughes (husband Ben) and his cherished grandchildren, Brooke Grace, Heidi Lou, Austin Ervin, Tate Robert and Casey Thomas. Brent is also survived by his sister, Barb McAlmond (husband Rick),  niece, Erica Ferradas, nephew, TJ McAlmond, extended family, and friends who will deeply miss his storytelling and sense of humor.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to his children, and countless memories that will be cherished forever by those who knew him.

A service will be held on Saturday, February 1st at 12pm at St John's Lutheran Church with a reception at Chubby's Bar and Grill immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to St. Andrew Catholic School's scholarship fund, where Brent was actively volunteering with their youth sports program. https://standrewschool.org/give/donate/
