IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brenda Lou
Dismukes
August 5, 1942 – June 22, 2023
Brenda Lou Dismukes, 80, passed on to her Heavenly Home, on June 22, 2023, surrounded by loving family members.
Brenda was born to Henry and Dovie Dismukes on August 5, 1942, in Casa Grande, Arizona. She was the youngest of 9 children: 6 sisters, Margaret, Edis and Edice (twins), Ouida, Irby, and Mickey; and 2 brothers, Nolan, and Robert. She is survived only by her brother, Nolan.
Brenda grew up in Florence, Arizona, where she attended elementary and middle school. The family moved to Mesa, Arizona, where Brenda graduated High School in 1960.
Brenda married Marvin Woith on June 9, 1961, in Mesa, Arizona. They welcomed two children, Adam Carl on May 6, 1963, and Yvette Marie on June 10, 1965. The family moved to Helena, Montana, in December 1976. Brenda and Marvin later divorced in 1984.
Brenda married Gene Lonz in Helena, Montana, on November 14, 2003.
Brenda worked 30+ years as a private, domestic housekeeper in Helena and the greater Helena area. Brenda was a very skilled and meticulous housekeeper and was sought after by many clients who owned luxury homes.
Brenda also worked part-time for both Merle Norman and Estee Lauder Cosmetics. Skin care and cosmetics was one of Brenda's great loves. She took considerable pride in her appearance and stayed current with fashion trends. Brenda was always well-dressed in stylish clothing and accessories, including jewelry, purses, and footwear. Perfectly coiffed hair, flawless makeup, and manicured nails polished off her personal style.
Brenda was also an avid collector of knick-knacks, trinkets, baubles, wall hangings, tapestries, antiques, and anything she thought was beautiful. There was not a place in her home that wasn't adorned with all of her treasures. She was especially fond of all thing's "chicken"!
Memories of Brenda would not be complete without a mention of her delicious, home-cooked Mexican meals! Growing up in Arizona and having numerous Hispanic relatives, Brenda was able to prepare some pretty authentic Mexican dishes, that were enjoyed frequently, but especially at Christmases with her children and grandchildren.
Brenda had a strong faith in Jesus as her Savior and Lord. She enjoyed listening to worship music, studying the Bible, Christian television, and she attended church every Wednesday night with her beloved Gene.
Brenda is survived by Gene Lonz, her best friend and companion of 19 years; daughter, Yvette (Travis) Smith; son, Adam (Traci) Woith; grandchildren, Kerissa (Rick) Lyman, Lacey (Ben) Rase, Chase (Sarah) Woith, Chelsie (Dan) Horacek, Madison (Nate) Miller, and Christian Woith; great grandchildren, Jayden & Steven Lyman, Kennedy & Ezra Horacek, and Grayson & Gemma Rase; brother, Nolan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are planned for July 1, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., at Helena First.
