Obituary

Barbara Ann Schultz, born on February 2, 1960, in Abilene Texas and was taken to be in the presence of Jesus in paradise on December 22, 2024, at her home and surrounded by her husband, daughters and future son-in-law. Barbara was the beloved daughter of Robert and Arlene Smith.

Barbara had experienced life to the fullest and traveled the globe. Where ever she was, she would actively engage people and make new friends. She had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path, even the most reluctant stranger. Her passion was walking in the foot steps of Jesus and loving everyone, from the wealthiest people to the homeless. She treated everyone with the same respect and love no matter who they were. Those who knew Barbara will remember her for her infectious laughter, her deep-rooted faith in Jesus, and her unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone she encountered.

Barbara always pursued God and achieved her Masters of Divinity from The Kings University. Because she did a significant portion of her courses in Oxford England, her professor, mentor and later her close friend Paul Chapel, would say that she essentially got her degree from Oxford. She was offered admission for her PhD, but she declined, wanting to spend more time with family. However, she did get Ordained as a Minister and officiated at funerals, marriages, baptisms and preached at New Hope Church. She was also able to teach college courses at El Camino Christian College.

Barbara touched the lives all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. We ask that you remember her for the way she lived, and for the profound impact she had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Don; her daughters, Elaine and Anna; granddaughter, Lily and her soon to be son-in-law, William. As well as countless cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Robert L Smith; mother, Arlene Smith; brother, Robert Smith and sister-in-law, Yolanda Smith.
