Arlene Judith Edith McDaniel went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday February 15th, 2022, at the age of 95. She has lived in Wolf Creek, MT since 1961. She was currently residing at TOUCHMARK in Helena. All her family were around her, as well as her pastors.Arlene was born on the UL BEND of the Musselshell River on her parent's homestead, on July 17th, 1926. Her parents were Arthur O. Wilkinson and Florence E. of the Melstone area. She married the love of her life, Robert C. McDaniel. She had two years of college in Missoula, couldn't stand being closed in, moved to Great Falls. She worked at Woolworths, and finally got a chance to purchase a café, "HERBIES", on the west side of Great Falls for twenty or so years. In 1961 she took on three orphaned children. She never had any of her own.Mom loved working with horses, her and dad worked for the OX BOW ranch in Wolf Creek. Then they started raising registered quarter horses. This became their life other than her love of the Lord. They even raised one that became a top national winner. After Bob passed away in June of 1989, Mom ran the ranch on her own, through all the seasons. She was a horse whisperer, when the new colts were born and she went to meet them her stud would bring the mares and colts down to greet her one at a time. It was amazing to watch. She loved the outdoors, flowers, horses, and her family. Even all the wild life that visited her, deer, elk, and even the bears that visited her apple trees.Mom was a child of God, no one can question what I mean. She touched so many lives and never quit talking about our Lord. She had her own smile and little chuckle that everyone loved. And if you were struggling with anything, she would say, "turn it over to the Lord, don't you trust Him?". She was a very active member of the Wolf Creek Baptist Church, helped with the harvest dinners and vacation bible schools. We moved Mom to TOUCHMARK in September and she really liked it. All the employees loved her as well. She helped new people entering the facility and would show them around. She watered flowers, real or not real. She greeted everyone.Mom took us three kids and raised us, we were teenagers and very active. They involved us in High School Rodeos. Jay went into the Navy and passed away in 1966. Step son Dave McDaniel passed away in 2016, Big Allan McDaniel passed away in 2017 from a 4-Wheeler accident. Alan Milliron lives in Wolf Creek with his wife Mardel, Faye Hill and her husband Bill also live in Wolf Creek. They have three children, Tony (David), Amber, and Daniel. She had 6 great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren and one on the way.Mom had a wonderful past year, she got to attend her grandsons wedding to Missy and her great grandson marry Hannah. Mom loved having her family around her and felt so blessed that most of them knew the Lord personally. That was a constant prayer for all of us. We will miss her greatly but will see her again someday.Remember the "Blue Hat".There will be no services at this time. Simple Cremation Montana has assisted the family.
