Obituary

Antoinette Ruth (George) McIntosh was born April 11, 1946 to Thomas Belgarde and Angie Hamlin in Helena Montana. She was adopted at a young age by William George, who undoubtedly became her Dad. She was the bridge between two families. She has numerous siblings on the Belgarde side who she tried to connect with over the years. When she was in high school she met her one true love John D McIntosh and they married October 30, 1964. They had four children together Tessa Nordahl, Samantha "Sam" Wells, Shane McIntosh, and Amber McIntosh all of Helena. Twelve grandchildren: John Wells, Terri(Mark) Lorenz, Zane Wells, Mya Wells, Erik McIntosh, Cody Wells, Rachel McIntosh, Jared Piilola, Keith Bright, Skyler McIntosh, Mackenzie Bright, and Liam McIntosh. Six great grandchildren: Jasmyn Lorenz, Morgan Lorenz, Draven Wells, Selena Barraza, Vivian Wells, and Paxton Piilola. Antoinette and John built their dream home, a log house in the mountains west of Helena up Birdseye Austin in 1984 where she lived until 2004.Throughout her life Antoinette worked various jobs. When the kids were little she ran a daycare out of their home, then she went to work for Super America as a store clerk, she was the lunch lady at a couple of schools and then went onto being a kitchen aid at Eagles Manor which she took great pride in for many years. After that she became a waitress at Country Kitchen and her final job where she retired from working was at the Court House.Antoinette loved cooking as food was what most often brought family together. No denying the family loved her cooking! They knew that one of their favorites would be served. She made the best baked beans, potato salad, stuffing and let's not forget dessert. Her pies were award winning. The lemon meringue, double layer pumpkin and banana cream were among the top favorites. The list genuinely could go on and on. Not that there weren't times when she would "experiment" or try something new or different in the kitchen such as okra...YUCK. One way or another you were getting a meal.Back in her prime she was an avid snowmobiler, she enjoyed bowling, and playing pool and darts. She loved to sing and was entertained by going out to karaoke. She would attend every pow-wow that she could. She was honored to celebrate the traditions and histories of native people. Antoinette always looked forward to trips and outing's whether it be to Wyoming to visit her sister Willow or Rockin the Rivers, an overnight camping trip for Memorial Day weekend or to watch her children and grandchildren play darts accompanied by a fish fry or to go to things like Symphony Under the Stars, any family gathering, graduation, wedding, birthday or a Moose function. She helped with many things at the Moose Lodge and was vastly involved prior to even becoming a member there in December of 2018.Due to Covid she was unable to meet her newest great granddaughter Paxton however she got to see pictures and of course got her a gift. She always picked out a special gift for her grandchildren. She was undeniably a proud mother and grandmother who knew that we all have troubles and make mistakes but she was still there to love each of us no matter what. She would never let anyone leave her home hungry and would invite all for the holidays. She taught us the importance of family and for that we will forever be grateful. Antoinette is survived by her mother Caroline Joan George, sibling's Linda Lynch, Marta Bromlie, Julie "Julie Bell" Capps, Willow George, Tom (April) George, Jim George, Shellie Nicole George, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew's, cousins and numerous other family members. She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas Belgarde, Angie Hamlin and William "Bill" George, and siblings Roxanne George, Roy George, and Douglas George as well as many other relatives. A special thank you goes out to Mike Sperry, Alice Songer, the Dialysis staff, Dr.LaClair and the E.R. staff for all that they did.Our family would also like to acknowledge Antoinettes sister Marta Bromlie, our Auntie for being our mother and grandmothers sister first followed by her best friend, confidant, accomplice, someone she could depend on unconditionally and had an extreme bond with. You played such an important part in her life. You are unselfish, giving, and helpful. We don't know what we would've done without you. All of your help won't be forgotten. We know that she cared about you and loved you beyond words Auntie Dart. We want to express our deepest gratitude for all that you, your children Nick and Anginette and your granddaughters Chinook and Rainelle did for her over the years. You all were a blessing to her. From the bottom of our hearts thank you. Simple Cremation Montana has assisted the family.
