IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anne Tappe
Scarff
April 1, 1958 – June 22, 2023
Annie Tappe Scarff breathed her last breath quietly on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at home with her family, friend Colleen and Kourtney Fisher, her Hospice Nurse.
Even though in the last years of Annie's life her health was declining, the heart of her life was strong; she cared for others! The last four years of her life she was confined to her bed and at times in a lot of pain, yet she never ever complained, not even once.
Annie played a huge part in supporting the homeless young people that stayed with her family for various lengths of time, over a number of years. She, with her husband, Mark, adopted two Native American boys, Dana and Cetan, who had very significant struggles to overcome. They became the love of her life and she devoted her life to them. They would not be alive today if it weren't for the deep-down, important and wonderful things she did for them. Along with them was their brother, Douglas, whom Annie also held in her heart and cared for, from when he was a baby until this present time. Now Annie is looking down on them with her continuing heavenly love.
She took into her heart Mark's two sons, Mark D. with his two daughters: Kieran and Kate, and Gup with his son Joshua.
Although most of the loving care she offered to those in need was done quietly, she could also be vocal about helping those who need help. She was a main speaker at the Festival of Trees supporting the Intermountain Children's home; she spoke to legislative committees about providing funds for mental health.
Quite simply, Annie was a heart of gold refined in loving care for others. This was written by Annie's husband, Mark, who was second, after the boys, in the heart of Annie. And sometimes being second is just as good as being first.
The obituary I wasn't going to write and the blessing it brought to me. She had just passed away and I had cried my grief. And now as I wrote and thoughts of her came to me, wonderful thoughts of deeds and things she'd done, An overwhelming joy descended on me. God and Annie. Annie no longer in pain was wrapped in God's comfort again.
