Andrew "Drew" Schroeder Anderson passed away June 5, 2024 at his home.

Drew was born on November 8, 1949, and lovingly adopted by Lila and Andrew "Andy" Anderson. Although his birthday was in November, in recent years, he decided to adopt a spring birthday – his favorite time of year.

Drew graduated from Helena Senior High School in 1968 and went on to attend several different universities. He started working for the Department of Labor and Industry in June 1973 and retired as a section supervisor in October 1999. During this time, Drew owned a house on Canyon Ferry Lake and fell in love with sailing. He owned a Catalina and was on the lake as often as possible.

Drew had his only child, Derek Andrew, with Mary Anne Simpson in June 1988. Derek was Drew's biggest accomplishment and best friend until the end. A couple of their favorite things to do were golfing and going out for drinks. They enjoyed deep conversations trying to solve the world's problems, but also frequently joked and laughed together. Drew was also very close with his granddaughter, Harlow. They often made Derek feel like he was the third wheel when they were all together. Drew and Derek shared their love of golf with Harlow and she has excelled over the years. Drew was also amazed by Harlow's talent on the piano.

Drew cared deeply for the ones he loved and animals. His tender nature and patience was always comforting to be around. Drew's sense of humor and wit, combined with comedic timing, always kept people entertained at parties, barbecues and any bar top around.

Drew was preceded in death by his parents Andy and Lila Anderson, his ex-wife and friend Mary Anne Simpson and his beloved cats, Maverick, Budu, Teauque, and Woodrow.

Drew is survived by his son, Derek (Katelyn) Anderson, granddaughter, Harlow Anderson, as well as many friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Simple Cremation Montana has assisted the family.
