Andrea Elizabeth Strowd, 74, of Helena, MT, died after a very short illness. She was born on December 3, 1949 in Minneapolis, MN. She grew up in Faribault, MN with her parents and siblings. She married Roger Mott in 1973 and moved to Florida, living in the Keys, Naples, and Tallahassee; she worked largely in social services. Andy and Roger had a son, Timothy Alan. They were later divorced. She remarried Alan Strowd and they lived for ten years in the Tallahassee area. Following this divorce, Andy and Tim moved to Helena, arriving in 1992. Andy worked as a Senior Investigative Specialist in the Montana Human Rights Bureau. She lived briefly in Pima, AZ. Andy was passionate about horses and their maintenance. Upon her retirement, she was able to indulge her interests in horses, and up until the week before she died, was actively caring for and riding her horse in the company of like-minded women.
Andy was preceded in death by her parents Homer B. Larsen and Helen (Snell) Larsen, brother Gregory Larsen, and ex-husband Roger Mott.
She is survived by her son Timothy Strowd and his wife Alyssa Gonzalez of Prescott, AZ and grandchildren Teegan, Kyler, and Maisy Strowd of the Pima area; her sister Lisa Larsen, husband Ray Flaherty, and nephew Jake Flaherty of Helena; her sister in-law Laurie Larsen of Edina, MN; nephew Peter Larsen, wife Megan Larsen, and grandnieces Cassidy and Sydney Larsen of Helena; and nephew Joe Larsen, wife Lucy Cosgrove, and children Greg and Adeline Larsen of Minneapolis, MN.
A family memorial will take place at a later date. Simple Cremation Montana has assisted the family.
