Obituary

Alyce Patricia Rice of Montana City, Montana passed away quietly on February 27, 2023. She was 88 years old.

Alyce was born on April 19, 1934 in Helena, Montana to Michael and Inez Brilakis. Alyce had three sisters, Helen, Katie and Mary. She also had two brothers that preceded her in death at a young age. As a young girl, Alyce and her parents and siblings lived in Silver City, Montana.

Alyce was first married to Lee Phillips and they had an infant son who passed away. Alyce remarried later to William (Bill) Rice. Together, Alyce and Bill built several homes in Jefferson County. Alyce had a very distinguished career with the Federal government. She enjoyed the people she worked with and the people she served. She retired from work temporarily and then volunteered with SCORE.

Alyce loved entertaining and she was a gourmet cook. She also loved animals, especially her dogs and the local deer. She would tell stories of handfeeding the deer that would come up to her kitchen door. She also enjoyed golfing, gardening and having lunch dates with her girlfriends. Her father was from Crete, Greece and Alyce was very proud of her Greek heritage.

Alyce is survived by her sister Helen Kenda of Belgrade, Montana, six nieces and two nephews and multiple grandnieces and grandnephews.

Alyce is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Katie and Mary, two brothers and her husband Bill.

Alyce was dearly loved by her family and will be deeply missed.
