Alice Carrie Lund, 76, was welcomed into the arms of the Lord Sunday, May 23, 2021. Alice's roots are in Cody, WY, where she grew up finding arrowheads with her mother and father, working at the laundry folding sheets. She went to the University of Wyoming in Laramie and got a degree in art education and met the love of her life, Curtis. They got married and started moving around for his job with the USDA: Cheyenne, Denver, Austin, Washington DC, then back to Denver for nearly 10 years, before settling in Helena for nearly 30 years before retiring to Green Valley, AZ. Along the way, Alice has travelled to all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Germany and Italy.Alice's professional career ranged from graphic designer to a variety of interesting secretary positions ultimately to retire as an investigative analyst with the ATF. Always organizing, simplifying, and coming up with new, better, clever ways to get stuff done, she was a natural as the chairman of the committee to build a new Covenant United Methodist Church.Alice was driven by creativity and art. From oil paintings to intricate polymer clay beads, Alice was always exploring new techniques, and working with interesting materials, textures and colors. When taking a break from her never-ending, even award-winning art projects, Alice often relaxed with a good mystery from one of her favorite authors like Mary Stewart, Dick Francis, and Dorothy Gilman. She shared Curt's love of watching birds, and enjoyed watching movies and travelogues with Curt, and Jeopardy almost daily. She was always up for a game of Scrabble or Trivial Pursuit, whether sitting around the kitchen table with family and friends, or driving down the road with her iPad.Alice and Curt shared many happy times with their extended family across Wyoming. Alice is survived by; her husband Curtis; daughter Shawna and granddaughter Karrigan; son Eric, his wife Robyn and grandsons Braxton and Jaydon; and many more relatives and friends along the way. Alice is predeceased by; her parents Vernon and Floy Matteson; and her brother Mike Matteson. A service will be announced at a later date.
